Equipment

  • blender

Ingredients

  • ½ cup coconut water
  • 1 teaspoon orange zest
  • ½ large navel orange - peeled and chopped
  • ½ cup banana slices - frozen
  • ¾ cup mango - cubed and frozen
  • ½ cup pineapple - cubed and frozen

Instructions

  • Add all of the ingredients to the blender in the order listed.
  • Pulse a few times and then blend on high speed until smooth. You may need to stop the blender and scrape the sides down a couple of times because it will be thick. You can add more coconut water if you like a thinner consistency.
  • Pour into a glass and serve!

Notes

  • Try to remove most of the pith from the orange (the white part) because it can impart a bitter taste to the smoothie.
  • Pulsing the smoothie gives you more control over blending. It can help with breaking up the frozen produce into a finer texture before finishing off on high speed.
  • Turn it into a smoothie bowl by transferring it to a bowl and adding toppings such as sliced fruits and chia seeds. Serve with a spoon!
