Sharing is caring!

Sipping on this mango pineapple smoothie is a bright and refreshing way to start your day. Bananas are added for sweetness and coconut water for hydration. The fresh orange gives it some extra fresh flavor and zest.

This mango pineapple smoothie is a huge hit in my house; especially with my kids. Probably because it reminds them of the McDonalds smoothie flavor.

I also have a mango strawberry smoothie and straight up mango smoothie that taste similar but with their own fruit combinations.

Ingredients

Mango pineapple smoothie ingredients prepped on marble background.
  • coconut water – I like using Vita Coco or Kirkland. If you like it more creamy, you could always go with milk or add some yogurt but it is vegan as is.
  • orange zest – Navel oranges work great for zest.
  • large navel orange – Peeled and chopped.
  • banana slices – Either pre-frozen or slice and freeze your own bananas on a baking sheet.
  • mango – Cubed and frozen. You can also find these pre-prepped in the frozen section of the grocery store.
  • pineapple – I like to cut them into wedges when they are at their sweetest and juiciest. If you buy a pre-frozen bag from the grocery store, they’re not always as sweet.

How to Make a Mango Pineapple Smoothie

  1. Add all of the ingredients to the blender in the order listed.
  2. Pulse a few times and then blend on high speed until smooth.
  3. Pour into a glass and serve!

Tips

  • Try to remove most of the pith from the orange (the white part) because it can impart a bitter taste to the smoothie.
  • Pulsing the smoothie gives you more control over blending. It can help with breaking up the frozen produce into a finer texture before finishing off on high speed.
  • You may need to stop the blender and scrape the sides down a couple of times because it will be thick and you want to make sure you get all of the bits.
  • You can add more coconut water if you like a thinner consistency.
  • Turn it into a smoothie bowl by transferring it to a bowl and adding toppings such as sliced fruits and chia seeds. Serve with a spoon!

Health Benefits

Pineapple: The pineapple in this smoothie makes it especially good for the mornings before you work out or start your activities for the day. This is because pineapple is beneficial to eat on an empty stomach. The presence of bromelain aids in digestion and pineapple also contains a large amount of fiber.

Mango: According to Healthline, eating mangoes can help improve digestion, boost your immune system and support heart health.
