- ¼ cup orange juice - freshly squeezed
- 1 tablespoon honey - optional
- 1 tablespoon fresh ginger - peeled and chopped - optional
- 1 cup frozen vanilla yogurt
- 1 large navel orange - peeled and chopped
- 1 orange slice - to garnish
Add all of the ingredients to a blender.
Blend until smooth.
Transfer to a glass and serve. Garnish with an orange slice, if desired.
- If you would like it to be thicker, blend in some ice cubes.
- You can omit the honey if it’s sweet enough for you.
- Frozen vanilla yogurt tastes a lot like ice cream and is usually lower in fat and calories.
- Choose large oranges with vibrant-colored skin.
- To peel and chop the orange: cut the top and bottom off first. Then, stand it up on the cutting board and slice down around the curve of the orange, all around the outside until the whole peel is removed. Cut it into chunks and add it to the smoothie.
