Ingredients

For the Orange Julius

  • ¾ cup orange juice
  • ¼ cup almond milk - or other non-dairy milk such as soy or oat milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup frozen banana slices
  • 4 or 5 ice cubes - depending on the thickness you want

Garnish

  • ½ navel orange - zested
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 orange wedge

Instructions

For the Garnish

  • Combine the orange zest and sugar on a small plate.
  • Wet the rim of a glass by making a small cut to the middle of an orange wedge (don’t go through the rind), setting it on the rim and rubbing it around the entire rim. Dip/roll the rim of the glass in the sugar and zest mixture until the rim is well coated.

For the Vegan Orange Julius

  • Combine all julius ingredients in a blender and pulse until smooth.
  • Pour the orange julius into the glass and serve with an orange wedge on the rim.

Notes

  • Thickness: If you would like it to be thicker, just add more ice or frozen bananas.
  • Note on nutrition: The nutrition information does not include the garnish as we cannot determine how much of the sugar rim will go on each glass.
