This green tea smoothie combines a few simple ingredients like pineapple, grapes and cooled green tea for a refreshing morning boost.

While it's very popular right now to blend up a matcha tea smoothie or morning coffee smoothie, you can also make a caffeinated smoothie with a bag of mellow green tea for something a little more simple and mild.
Simply steep a bag of green tea and let it cool before blending it to smooth, creamy goodness with fresh and frozen fruit. You can check out more of my coffee and tea smoothie recipes here.
- green tea - I use a bag of organic green tea, which is always on hand at my house and simple to find in grocery stores. It has a light, grassy, soothing flavor.
- green grapes - Green grapes and green tea go together well; the combo is actually kind of genius! The grape’s juicy sweetness balances the tea’s astringency. The two have complementary flavors and nutritional synergy.

❓ Recipe FAQs
Yes. Green tea naturally contains caffeine, although less than the amount you would find in a cup of coffee.
The amount can depend on how much green tea the smoothie contains. For example, a smoothie with ½ cup of green tea can contain between 15 mg and 25 mg of caffeine.
Matcha tea is made by grinding whole green tea leaves into a fine powder, allowing you to consume the entire leaf. Brewed green tea involves steeping tea bags in hot water, extracting the flavor from the leaves without consuming them directly.

I love the balanced flavors. It’s perfect if you want something more mild than matcha and a cold tea that isn’t just iced tea.
