In this kiwi smoothie, frozen kiwifruit is combined with vanilla frozen yogurt and a few strawberries for a classic flavor combination. It uses only 4 ingredients and takes but a few minutes to blend up for breakfast or an afternoon snack.
This strawberry-kiwi smoothie flavor combination creates a mix of sweet and tangy flavors with a hint of tartness. The strawberry adds sweet juiciness to the tart flavor of the kiwi.
I have a couple of strawberry flavored smoothies you might also like: strawberry mango smoothie and strawberry banana smoothie.
🥝Ingredients
- pineapple juice – The juice adds sweetness and helps with blending. You can use a different type of juice like apple or orange if preferred. It’s whatever you like best and/or have on hand.
- vanilla frozen yogurt – This should be easy to find in the grocery store. However, you can definitely do a little DIY by scooping yogurt into an ice cube tray and freezing it until solid. It will be a bit harder to blend than the store-bought version.
- kiwi – You can find kiwi in pre-frozen bags at the grocery store or simply chop up some kiwi, lay it onto a sheet pan and freeze it. The tiny black seeds add some crunch and visual appeal.
- strawberries – You can also slice and freeze strawberries yourself or buy them pre-frozen.

🥣How to Make it
- Add all of the ingredients to a blender.
- Blend on high speed until smooth.
- Transfer to a glass and serve.
💡Top Tip
You may need to stop the blender a couple of times to scrape the sides down. Adjust the thickness with the pineapple juice if it is too thick for you. I personally like a thick smoothie, but it is a little more challenging for blending.
❓Recipe FAQs
It is possible that combining kiwi with milk can make the milk taste bitter because it can spoil the milk. I’ve never experienced this with yogurt in my smoothies, but I’ve also consumed them shortly after blending.
The creamy, sweet and tangy taste of yogurt complements the sweet, tart flavor of kiwi.
