Sweet Potato Smoothie

Sharing is caring!

This sweet potato smoothie with cream cheese is a fall favorite that looks and tastes almost like pumpkin pie filling! It's incredibly smooth, creamy and so cozy.

🍂 What This Fall Smoothie Tastes Like

  • 😋 Taste & Texture: Similar to the taste and texture of pumpkin pie, according to my kids. Cooked sweet potatoes have a nice, natural sweetness that tastes candy-like. The banana flavor is not very noticeable but it adds a touch of sweetness and helps the smoothie stay smooth.
  • 🍭 Sweetness: Slightly sweet but not overly.
  • 🥤 Thickness: Medium thickness. Straw or no-straw friendly.
  • 🥛 Creaminess: Extra smooth and creamy.

🍠 Ingredients

Sweet potato smoothie ingredients labeled on navy blue background.
  • sweet potato - Sweet potatoes are larger than regular potatoes and have copper-brown skin/bright orange flesh. They are not the same as a yam, which is bark-like brown.
  • almond milk - I use sweetened plain almond milk without vanilla flavor as we are already adding vanilla in this recipe.
  • cream cheese - I like to buy the brick cream cheese for this recipe. It's easier to measure and cut into a quarter cup section.
  • bananas - You can either find frozen banana slices in the freezer section of the supermarket or freeze your own. Bananas add a nice sweetness to the smoothie.

Notes

  • My top tips are to make sure the cream cheese is softened ahead of time so that it blends nicely and the sweet potato has cooled.
  • If you like it a little sweeter, maple syrup is the perfect sweetener to add.
