Not only does it taste amazing, but it’s packed with fiber and nutrients, it has a high water content and lends a creamy texture to the smoothie. If you love smoothies that taste like dessert, I also have this date smoothie recipe, chocolate banana smoothie and double chocolate smoothie that I think you’ll enjoy.

🍫Ingredients

Zucchini, almond butter, chocolate milk and ice cubes on copper-orange background.
  • chocolate milk – This can be regular chocolate milk, soy or almond.
  • almond butter – For more creaminess, protein and a hint of nutty flavor.
  • cocoa powder – For extra chocolate flavor.
  • frozen vanilla yogurt – This helps to make the texture creamy and smooth.
  • zucchini – You can clean out the seeds if you like or leave them in. I recommend leaving the skin on for extra fiber and nutrients.
  • ice – To help thicken the smoothie.

❓Recipe FAQs

Can I freeze zucchini for smoothies?

Absolutely! Freezing the zucchini will help thicken and chill the smoothie. All you need to do is chop it and freeze it on a baking sheet.

Can you shred zucchini and freeze it for later?

Yes, you can freeze shredded zucchini. I suggest placing it in small freezer bags, labeling the bags with the date and then storing in the freezer for up to 3 months.

Can you mix vegetables in a smoothie?
