Mango Smoothie

Sharing is caring!

This orange, creamy mango smoothie is dominated by tropical mango flavor. Thick, sweet and ice cold, it tastes more like a frozen dessert than a healthy breakfast snack. You’re going to need an extra wide straw for this one!

It reminds me of my mango pineapple banana smoothie and mango strawberry smoothie but a more simple version with the flavors being concentrated purely on mango. I hope you enjoy my aesthetic mango-forward smoothie recipe as much as we do!

🥣Ingredients

  • frozen mango chunks – You can easily find them pre-frozen in the supermarket or freeze your own mangoes when they are ripe and juicy.
  • mango juice – When you buy mango juice, it usually ends up being a mix of mango and other juices with the mango flavor being more dominant. That is perfectly fine. Just make sure it is unsweetened so that the sweetness of this smoothie comes out just right.
  • mango yogurt – I like to use Activia probiotic yogurt.
  • mango slices – This is an optional garnish.

🔄Variations

  • Make it a smoothie bowl by keeping it thick enough to eat with a spoon. Transfer to a bowl and dig in!
  • While not as healthy, some people like to use ice cream instead of yogurt for mango smoothies. If you give it a try, let me know how it turned out.
  • To make it creamier, you can substitute milk for the juice; this includes plant-based milks.

🥤How to Make a Mango Smoothie

  1. Pulse. Pulse all of the smoothie ingredients in a high-speed blender until smooth.
  2. Serve. Serve in a glass garnished with frozen mango slices.

💡Top Tip

This is a very thick mango smoothie so if it seems to be getting stuck: stop the blender, mix the contents around a bit, put the lid back on and continue blending. Or, add some more mango juice a little bit at a time until it blends more smoothly.

❓Recipe FAQs

What fruit blends well with mango?

Mangoes go with many other fruits such as strawberries, pineapple, banana, peaches, other berries and more.

Why are mango smoothies so thick?

The thickness will depend on if the ingredients are frozen or not and how much liquid is added to the smoothie. For a thinner smoothie, add some more juice or milk.
