Papaya Smoothie

Sharing is caring!

This papaya smoothie is creamy, thick and delicious. I invite both lovers and non-lovers of papaya to try it out. It’s sweetened with a touch of honey, orange juice and some frozen bananas. Ginger powder adds a hint of spice and cashew milk brings it all together.

Papaya has a unique taste that’s often described as sweet, tropical, and somewhat musky. Its flavor can vary depending on its ripeness; ripe papayas tend to be sweeter with a softer, almost buttery texture, while unripe ones can be more tangy or even slightly bitter.

I also have these other tropical smoothies you might like: mango smoothie and dragon fruit smoothie.

Ingredients

Papaya smoothie ingredients prepped on marble/wooden cutting board.
  • unsweetened cashew milk – Or your favorite plant-based milk.
  • orange juice – Fresh or from concentrate without added sugar is best.
  • honey -Or agave nectar for a vegan substitute.
  • ground ginger – You can use fresh ginger instead or omit it if you don’t like ginger.
  • fresh papaya – Papaya is a tropical fruit with an interesting flavor. Personally, I don’t care for the taste or smell of papaya fruit on its own. But is it ever delicious in a smoothie!
  • banana – Sliced and frozen.
