Spinach Smoothie

Sharing is caring!

This spinach smoothie is perfectly sweet and creamy. Even if you aren’t a fan of spinach, cooked or raw, you might find that you enjoy this smoothie and are able to stomach the taste just fine. The taste of the spinach is hardly noticeable amongst the vanilla almond milk, Greek yogurt, fresh blueberries and frozen mango.

This smoothie is super easy to make and great for busy mornings or as a healthy boost when that afternoon slump hits. It’s a simple way to eat clean and sneak in some greens—without actually tasting them.

If you're a fan of a green smoothie, you might also find my kale smoothie and avocado smoothie enjoyable.

This smoothie has a nice combination of fruit and vegetable flavors:

  • vanilla almond milk (not pictured) - The sweetened kind.
  • vanilla Greek yogurt - It's thick and tangy with a hint of vanilla flavor which makes it a great choice for this smoothie.
  • fresh baby spinach - You're not necessarily going to taste spinach in the smoothie but it's there to add nutrients and protein.
  • fresh blueberries - I like the smaller blueberries because they seem to have more flavor and a better texture.

❓ Recipe FAQs

Is it OK to put raw spinach in a smoothie?

Yes! I love adding raw spinach to smoothies because it adds freshness but it doesn't alter the flavor so much. Make sure you clean it first by rinsing with cool water.

Does spinach make smoothies thicker?

While spinach will add some amount of thickness, it's mostly the frozen fruit and yogurt that will really thicken the smoothie up.
