This blueberry smoothie has an amazing combination of flavors coming through with the taste of blueberries followed by fresh orange and then hints of maple and vanilla. It only takes a few minutes from blender to glass.

🥤 Sip Expectations
- 🫐 Taste & Texture: This smoothie tastes full-on blueberry. It's overall smooth with little blueberry skin bits.
- 🍭 Sweetness: Medium sweetness from the bananas, maple syrup and hint of vanilla.
- 🥤 Thickness: Medium-thick because of minimal liquid ingredients but straw-friendly.
- 🥛 Creaminess: Irresistibly creamy from the Greek yogurt.
If you’re feeling fancy, grab a couple of mint leaves and fresh blueberries for a garnish. I've also created a blackberry smoothie and strawberry blueberry smoothie that you might like or a blueberry keto smoothie!
🫐 Ingredients

- plain Greek yogurt - I like to go for the full 10% M.F. creamy Greek yogurt but feel free to choose low fat.
- maple syrup - Just to add a touch of sweetness and a hint of maple flavor.
- vanilla extract - Pure or artificial vanilla extract both work great, depending on your budget.
- navel orange - The fresh orange flavor works very well with the blueberries and vanilla. It reminds me of having a blueberry-flavored Orange Julius.
- frozen blueberries - If you can find frozen, wild blueberries, those are a great choice but regular blueberries work as well.

🥣 How to Make a Blueberry Smoothie

Step 1. Add all of the ingredients to a blender or food processor.

Step 2. Purée until smooth.

Pro Tip: Like most thick smoothies, you may need to stop the blender and scrape the sides down a couple of times to get it to a nice and smooth consistency.

Step 3. Transfer to a glass. Serve garnished with some fresh blueberries and mint, if desired.
✔️ Joss' Top Tip
This is optional, but if you would like to thin it out, try adding some milk, water or almond milk.
❓ Recipe FAQs
While blended blueberries do lose a small amount of nutrients due to quicker oxidation, the amount is very minimal and doesn't apply to fiber.
Blueberries go nicely with blackberries, cherries, bananas, apples and avocados to name a few.
Yes, and it can still be creamy. Bananas add a sort of creaminess and thickness, so simply add a few more frozen banana pieces. You could also use coconut milk or coconut cream, which is thicker.
Frozen avocado or frozen mango are my two favorite substitutes for bananas. Some people also use frozen cauliflower as it's pretty neutral in flavor.
You want to blend it just until the ingredients are smooth and combined (about 30 to 60 seconds should do); a few small bits are okay if you like your smoothies with a touch of texture. You don't want to overblend or the smoothie will start to melt and become thin.
